Beneath the Surface VII — Limited Edition Fine Art Print

From ‘A Gentle Light Between World A Print Series’, this is a Limited Edition Reproduction Print of my Original Painting ‘Beneath the Surface VII’.

There is a gentle life within this piece… Layers of light and dark unfold across the surface, revealing a richly detailed world that feels both intimate and expansive. There’s a quite pull inward here. An invitation to look closer, to explore, to lose yourself within the intricacy of it all.

This work draws on my ongoing fascination with the natural world, in particular the unseen and often overlooked realms that exist beneath the surface. Inspired by years spent along the Victorian coastline, observing rock pools, reefs and the subtle movement of water, it reflects both the microscopic and the oceanic at once.

The organic, clustered forms allude to cellular structures, bioluminescent organisms, coral, anemones and delicate plant growth. Light emerges from deeper, darker grounds echoing those moments in nature where tiny, luminous life forms gather against shadowed rock and shifting tides.

There is a sense of quiet discovery within this piece, a reminder of the complexity, beauty and fragility of the worlds that exist both around us and within us.

Created to bring depth, intrigue and a sense of wonder into your space, this work invites a slower gaze, a place for the eye to wander, return and continually find something new.

Each print has been carefully produced to honour the original painting—retaining its softness, depth and quiet glow.

I hope you enjoy my unique art and take on the world. Every piece is a personal journey and overflows with the joy, beauty and wonder I feel in this world.

If you’ve ever felt drawn to one of my paintings but the size or budget didn’t quite fit, this might be a gentle way to bring one into your space.

THE STORY BEHIND MY ART

There is a quiet life that moves through all of my work…

My paintings explore the subtle, often unseen spaces where water, light and life intersect. Drawn to both the vastness of the ocean and the intricacy of microscopic worlds, I find myself continually returning to these parallel realms where the big and the tiny, the visible and the hidden, exist in a delicate and ever shifting balance.

Having grown up by the sea, the rhythms of coastal life remain deeply embedded in my practice. Rock pools, drifting currents, bioluminescent organisms and cellular structures all inform the language of my paintings. Organic, circular forms emerge and gather suggesting coral blooms,
microscopic life or something more abstract and intuitive, inviting a sense of recognition without ever being fixed.

At their core, these works are about quiet observation and gentle immersion. They are not intended to overwhelm, but to offer a place of
pause, a moment to slow down, to look more closely, and to reconnect with the
softer, luminous rhythms that exist both in nature and within ourselves.

The introduction of Limited Edition Fine Art Prints has been a considered extension of this practice. Created in small editions and produced with great care, each print is designed to honour the original painting retaining its softness, depth and subtle glow.

For collectors, they offer a way to live with the work in a more accessible form, while still holding onto a sense of intimacy and intention.

Whether experienced as a quiet field of light, a memory of the sea or a glimpse into something more microscopic, each piece is an invitation to pause, to drift, to wonder and feel a gentle sense of connection.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am an Australian contemporary artist with 30 years in the industry and a BFA in painting from Victorian College of the Art, Melbourne.
I am an established artist and am known for my atmospheric abstract paintings inspired by invisible nature, particularly microscopic and aquatic worlds. My work explores themes of water, life forms, and organic structures, capturing the hidden beauty of the natural world.

I have two beautiful, grown children and a fabulous supportive husband, who is also an artist. As well as, a rather active, crazy Jack Russell. We spend a lot of our time on the southern coast surfing, swimming, fossicking rockpools, trekking and absorbing inspiration for our art.

I am creating prints because as an artist specialising in original paintings, I never thought I would ever contemplate recreating prints of my artworks. But there has been a small shift in the studio lately… one I didn’t expect.

I did explore creating prints briefly a few years ago, but I didn’t quite understand how to bring them into the world properly… how to share them and how to place them. The process felt unclear, and so I gently let it go.

But recently, I’ve had a number of enquiries for prints and I took
that as a sign to look again. This time with more time, more understanding and a deeper care for how they’re made and shared.

So I’ve been working behind the scenes on something new… A small considered collection of Limited Edition Fine Art Prints.

Each one has been carefully selected and produced to honour the original painting. All the softness, the detail & the subtle glow. The quality now is quite incredible something that finally feels aligned with my work.

I’ve chosen to keep these as limited editions, so they remain
special… something to be lived with and collected over time.

If you’ve ever felt drawn to one of my paintings but you missed out on the original or the size or budget didn’t quite fit, this might be the perfect way to bring one into your space.

Thank you for reading this story 🤍
