In this artwork the colours are soft earthy neutrals with subtle tonal shifts. This art piece is inspired by the mini-worlds discovered in rock pools and coral reefs and the hues found there in.

‘Bio Bloom Tideline Cluster I’ continues in my fascination with the minutiae of life and aquatic themes. It belongs to my ‘Bio-Cluster’ Series exploring the sublime beauty of microscopic life and sea-life. I am inspired by the natural world and the forces that shape it. All the tiny fragments of the universe and patterns of life.

The organic cluster motifs I often use allude to pulsating growth formations, cellular life forms and to the beautiful otherworldliness of the microscopic building blocks of life. The variation in the size and shape of the organic forms in this painting moves our eyes attention in and out of focus across the picture plane. I really enjoy that your eyes get to explore and discover subtle hidden shapes and textures within the painted surface just like the joy of discovering magical things in underwater diving or rock-pooling

Ultimately my paintings are about connecting to our sense of awe and wonder at the beauty of nature and the miraculous building blocks of all life.

What I also enjoy about my paintings is that they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls something beautiful and a talking point for years to come.
