This is an original, one off, abstract painting on canvas that is ready to hang on your beautiful wall.

A calming artwork that soothes the soul. In this one the colours are soft and slightly paired back plus plenty of surface texture and depth. The hues inspired by underwater worlds discovered on coral reefs and along the tideline with hints at sea foam and the layers of sea-life found in rock pools. 

I was lucky to grow up by and, most of the time, in the sea. So much so, that I think I have brine for blood and salty bones. The echoes of the sea are never far. And now living in the city, I do miss being so close to the coast. The ocean remains a constant source for inspiration and calm for me.

My message is always be kind to the ocean and to the whole world around you. 

‘Bio Bloom – Tideline V’ belongs to my ‘Aqua Vitae’ Series, inspired by microscopic other worlds and aquatic wonderlands. Gentle under currents, drifts, ebbs and flows. Shorelines, coral reefs and the waters of life. Patterns on a microscopic and macroscopic scale. I find all these things meditative and worthy of contemplation and creating art about. 

Ultimately the paintings are about our sense of awe and amazement at nature and the miraculous building blocks of all life. 

What I enjoy most about my paintings is that they can make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls interest and a splash of colour for years to come.
