Such a joy painting with these colours, so full of life and happiness. The jewel like ultra-marine blue, aqua and white with touches of olive green and dark violet creates a lively interplay across the surface. A striking reminder of the effervescence contained within the waters of life.

The big. The tiny. The sea. The surf wash and foam. The molecules. Rock-pools and all life on the coast. These things are that I think about and look at when I create these paintings.

The circular organic motifs and the organic forms allude to cellular life forms, dainty aquatic-life and to the visceral otherworldliness of the building blocks of life like cells, amoeba, and molecules and as the title suggests, ‘bioluminescence’. The forms can be viewed as miniscule cell life just as easily as an underwater view with floating jellyfish or glowing bioluminescent organisms. The aim was to create something sublime, beautiful and full of intrigue.

What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls finesse and with a splash of colour for years to come.

These smaller canvases create an elegant talking point with a view into another world where beautiful mysterious shapes and forms drift gently in and out of focus. They make a great start to a art collection and gallery wall.
