‘Aqueous Bloom Rock-Pool Musings III’ continues in my fascination with the minutiae of life and sea-life themes. It belongs to my ‘Bio Bloom’ & ‘Aquatic' Series’ exploring the sublime beauty of microscopic life and the natural world as I am deeply inspired by nature and the forces that shape it.

‘Aqueous Bloom Rock-Pool Musings III’ can be viewed as microscopic worlds just as easily as an underwater rock-pool garden with drifting corals and barnacle blooms. Ultimately it is about our sense of awe and wonder at all miraculous life large and miniscule. And our reflection on these fragile natural worlds and our place within this environment.

This artwork has a beautiful layered texture like craggy seaside rocks. The organic shapes and motifs I so often use in my artworks, vary in size and shape in this painting which casually moves our eyes attention in and out of focus across the picture plane. I really enjoy that your eyes get to explore and discover subtle hidden shapes and patterns within the layered painted surface. Some joy for the eye and the mind.

What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving collectors walls intrigue, beauty and a talking point for years to come.
