This big artwork allows you to come in close and experience the joy of shapes and colours inspired by aquatic, molecular and microscopic life. The forms and their arrangement are intended to make visual vibrations to create enjoyment and delight in the viewer.

I loved using this colour palette. The jewel like ultra-marine blues and teal hues, stunning burnt orange, almost fluorescent pinks. And the sharp contrast created by the fluffy whites against the deep teals and blue-blacks. All working together to create the wonderful other-worldliness of the waters of life and our oceans.

The big. The tiny. The sea. The molecules. The microscopic. Bioluminescent organisms. These things I think about and look at when I create these paintings. They can be viewed as miniscule cell life just as easily as floating jellyfish swarms or an underwater garden with bioluminescent organisms. And particularly in this case, the mysterious partially camouflaged form of a stingray drifting by.

Diving into the deep blues. This painting belongs to my 'Aquatic' Series. It is representative of my exploration into the microscopic minutiae of life with all its order & chaos. I delve into the beautiful parallels of art with science that I have bound with my love of floaty effervescent underwater life. All the stuff that is so very real but cannot be seen with our normal everyday eyesight.

The circular organic motifs allude to cellular life forms, dainty aquatic-life and in the arrangement, the pulsating rhythmic patterns of universal forms that so often stop us in our tracks in awe of their magnificence. I wanted the painting to be sublime and beautiful yet also have feelings of calmness and contemplation.

What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as making their walls bright and beautiful for years to come.
